Free Lunch
Each child has access to breakfast and lunch included in the school day to fight malnutrution, in an area where many survive on one meal a day.
This provision also improves concentration in the classroom.
Library
We have a library with access to a range of books.
The library also houses a projector where the children can watch educational programes to enrich their education
Learning through play
Traditional Early Years education in Uganda is very desk-based, including children as young as 3. Studies have shown that children at this age learn best through play. This is something at New Dawn we are striving to integrate into our Nursery curriculum. This includes both use of toys and games, as well as an outdoor playground.
Boarding house
Our most vulnerable children are housed in our boarding house, where they can assured of nutritious meals and a bed to sleep on in a safe space. Our older children are also encouraged to board so that they can concentrate on their studies and be supported
